Trereife House Penzance

We wanted to stay in Penzance for 2 nights and selected this property specifically the one bedroom apartment even though there was only one or two grainy images of the internals on their website and hotel booking sites. In hindsight the images must have been taken just after the minor renovation was completed some time ago.

The apartment was tolerable but there really is no excuse for things not being clean. we dare not sit on the sofa for example, carpets not clean, kitchenette sink drain smelt etc.

Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport

This trip we stayed at the Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport both the night we arrived from Las Vegas and the night prior to departing for Hong Kong. Transit from Terminals 2 and 3 via red buses was fast, easy and economical both directions with a bus stop almost right outside the hotel. We had a meal at the hotel restaurant the night we arrived which was fine and full breakfast both mornings which was also great especially in comparison to some of the country hotels in the USA.

The Sommerville Torquay

We found The Sommerville Torquay a great place to stay for the two nights we had available in Torquay. It is obvious from the second you meet the hosts they care about ensuring your stay is satisfying and pleasant. The accommodation is in a central location for walking to most attractions, breakfast in the mornings is a highlight, the room with separate sitting and bedroom is comfortable and clean and well maintained.

All up we are very satisfied with our choice of The Sommerville Torquay for the 2 nights and we highly recommend based on our stay.

Quay Hotel and Spa Conwy

Booked this Hotel via Expedia and we reserved a one bedroom with balcony. On arrival the first evening after driving up from Cardiff the receptionist told us there was no booking then said nothing else and kept typing away at the keyboard. I searched for the booking details then presented the info and was told "no have found it, just expedia has not downloaded or been checked".

Future Inn Cardiff Bay

We spent 2 nights at the Future Inn Cardiff Bay unfortunately the first night was Saturday and we endured a lot of noise from partying above and arguing etc in the car park. On advising reception of the fact the next morning they were very caring and moved us to a higher floor as well as offering free breakfast the following morning. The hotel is ok, a little closer to the city than St Davids where we stayed last time and not of the same standard/quality as St Davids but a much lower price than St Davids Spa and the self parking compared to St Davids Spa valet parking was appreciated.

BA274 LAS to LHR

We have actually flown this same flight previously, last time in economy. This trip we were in business class upstairs on the Boeing 747 experiencing British airways unique front to back seating. Pre flight the lounge was the same as last time. Previously flying economy we had lounge access via Priority Pass this time due to being in business class. The seat is very different if anything it does not feel as wide as the Qantas Skybeds but there is plenty of legroom.

Best Western Coral Hills St George UT

After Page we headed over to St George for our last night in the US for this trip. On the way we routed via Zion National Park, just the drive through is an experience. we were a little pressed for time and by the time we arrived in Zion parking was at a premium and difficult to find but returning to Zion with more time is on the to do list. On arrival in St George we had time to stop off at the factory outlets before heading to the Best Western Coral Hills.

Best Western Lake Powell

We spent 2 nights at the Best Western Lake Powell in Page Arizona. This is a great area to visit and well worth a drive out to Marble Canyon and surrounding area if you have not visited previously. There is also Horseshoe Bend, Lake Powell and Glen Ganyon Dam all very worthy of shortlisting.
