Focus Motel & Executive Suites

We booked the Focus Motel And Executive Suites, Christchurch for six nights and are very happy with our choice. The location is great, close to the casino and restaurants and a short walk to the CBD.

The one bedroom apartment style room with balcony was clean and modern. Roy and Carol were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, without hesitation we would choose Focus Motel And Executive Suites, Christchurch whenever we return to Christchurch.

Sudima Christchurch Airport

We arrived at this hotel around midnight after flying in from Sydney. The Sudima Christchurch Airport is an easy walk from the Christchurch airport terminal.

Check in at that time of night was not a problem and our room on the ground floor was spacious and clean. The next morning revealed cafe and restaurants, a supermarket and McDonald's very close by.

It was a very short walk back to the car rental pickup areas at Christchurch airport. The Sudima Christchurch Airport ticked all the boxes for accommodation within walking distance of Christchurch airport.

Qantas QF 139 Sydney to Christchurch

We recently flew from Sydney to Christchurch on Qantas QF139 a 737 aircraft in business. To be honest I cannot review the flight due to a strenuous week prior and after a couple of wines I fell asleep quickly after departure and woke up during landing preparations on approach! I guess the flight was smooth.

Best thing is we made it into Christchurch after 11:00PM and had a room booked within walking distance from the terminal!

QF 1585 SYD-HBA QF 1584 HBA-SYD

Qantas (Qantas Link) in Australia have a fleet of Boeing 717 aircraft which are a great aircraft to fly in economy as a couple because there is a row of 3 seats down one side of the aircraft and a row of 2 seats down the other side of the aircraft. Sitting on the port side eliminates the middle seat. Business class has 2 seats either side but for the short duration, less than 2 hours it is not really worth business class unless status credits are desired and reasonably priced business class seats can be picked up transiting via Melbourne in Victoria.

Cathay CX101 HKG-SYD

We have flown this flight previously only last time the aircraft was an A330 instead of the B777 currently servicing the route and last time we were in economy.

Once again the selection of lounges in Hong Kong is outstanding. Flying overnight on the Cathay B777 in business is very private and comfortable. Inflight service is great sometimes you wish the flight could be longer?wink

Langham Hong Kong

How often do you find something really good then go back and it is not as good anymore?

This has not been our experience with the Langham in Hong Kong. Last time we stayed we upgraded to the club floors and this time we booked the club floors up front.

Nothing has deteriorated and if anything the service has improved if that was possible.

Yes it is expensive, yes it is really really good. To date the Langham Hong Kong has always been a memorable experience.

Thank you to all Langham Hong Kong staff.

Cathay CX252 LHR HKG

We have always found Cathay to be great, good aircraft layouts, first to upgrade us ages ago!! excellent service and lounges. With the demise of the B747 the B777 is close to providing the same or better feel of available space.

Although service may seem a little rushed at times what airline does not feel that way at times, and Cathay are a great airline to fly in any class.

Trereife House Penzance

We wanted to stay in Penzance for 2 nights and selected this property specifically the one bedroom apartment even though there was only one or two grainy images of the internals on their website and hotel booking sites. In hindsight the images must have been taken just after the minor renovation was completed some time ago.

The apartment was tolerable but there really is no excuse for things not being clean. we dare not sit on the sofa for example, carpets not clean, kitchenette sink drain smelt etc.

Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport

This trip we stayed at the Hyatt Place London Heathrow Airport both the night we arrived from Las Vegas and the night prior to departing for Hong Kong. Transit from Terminals 2 and 3 via red buses was fast, easy and economical both directions with a bus stop almost right outside the hotel. We had a meal at the hotel restaurant the night we arrived which was fine and full breakfast both mornings which was also great especially in comparison to some of the country hotels in the USA.
