Qantas QF 582 Perth to Sydney

Technically this was the first flight of an around the world trip spanning 5 countries and 12 flights although we had positioned into Perth from Sydney to commence. As we had plenty of time we caught bus 40 from Perth CBD to Perth airport and after checking in headed to the Qantas domestic Business Lounge in terminal 3/4.

Peppers Kings Square Hotel Perth

We experienced 3 nights accommodation at Peppers Kings Square Hotel in Perth as the start of an around the world trip. Our room on the 11th floor was a good size, there was a pod coffee machine but only 2 pods available but we purchased more pods from a supermarket in the next block. The hotel is close to the main train and bus station and an easy walk across town to the river and we also walked up to Kings Park which although steep at one point was not very far. This hotel was clean and fairly quiet and in a good location for us.

Qantas QF566 Perth to Sydney

This was our first time in the new Qantas A330 business class seating and we found it to be very good. The compartments are private and comfortable with plenty of room. This inflight service was excellent with a good selection of food and drinks. The seats recline fully flat and there are 2 positions acceptable for take off and landing, an upright position and a slightly reclined position.

Hyatt Regency Perth

We stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Perth the night of our arrival from Hong Kong. I explicitly booked this hotel due to their late 2:00PM on a Sunday checkout offer. I had called other hotels closer to Perth airport asking if a later checkout was available and was told we would have to pay for 2 nights to obtain a late checkout. I actually called the Hyatt to check and it was confirmed that late checkout was ok. On arrival around midnight the receptionist said midday was the best she could offer but I informed her I had called to confirm 2:00PM was ok previously.
