We have flown this flight previously only last time the aircraft was an A330 instead of the B777 currently servicing the route and last time we were in economy.
Once again the selection of lounges in Hong Kong is outstanding. Flying overnight on the Cathay B777 in business is very private and comfortable. Inflight service is great sometimes you wish the flight could be longer?
We have always found Cathay to be great, good aircraft layouts, first to upgrade us ages ago!! excellent service and lounges. With the demise of the B747 the B777 is close to providing the same or better feel of available space.
Although service may seem a little rushed at times what airline does not feel that way at times, and Cathay are a great airline to fly in any class.
Cathay Pacific CX171 Hong Kong to Perth early July 2016 was on an Airbus A330 in the excellent Cathay Pacific Business Class section this time seated in row 12 seats 12D and 12G
Inflight service was great with lunch and dinner served and the wide selection would suit almost everyone.
We had arrived late into Zurich on BA712 from London Heathrow so our connection time of 1 hour and 10 minutes was reduced to less than an hour and we had to change terminals and clear another security screening.
Anyway we made it and boarded Cathay Pacific CX382 a Boeing 777 and for this flight we were located in the main business class cabin in the center two seats row 18 being 18D and 18G. Leaving Zurich at 1:30 PM and arriving in Hong Kong the next morning at 7:05 AM the meals were lunch and breakfast with snacks available in between if desired.
Cathay Pacific CX840 Hong Kong to New York in June 2016 was serviced using a Boeing 777 300ER as this trip was in Business class we were lucky enough to secure 11G and 11D which are the 2 center seats in the first row right behind the first class cabin bulkhead. Also these seats are in the smaller forward business class cabin which has only two rows and is separated from the main business class cabin by toilets and the forward business class galley.
Cathay Pacific Flight CX110 Sydney to Hong Kong June 2016 equipment was an Airbus A330 this trip was in business class seats 14D 14G the two in the center isle and row 14 is the third from the front.
Departing early at 07:30 the scheduled flight time is 9:40 with breakfast and lunch served. The service is excellent, food and wine is good and the Cathay Pacific business class seats are very roomy and private. Access to the Qantas Lounge in Sydney International airport was included.
Last time we flew back from Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific it was a daytime flight which departs around 9 AM and arrived in Sydney that evening. CX 101 departs Hong Kong at 23:45 and arrives in Sydney the next day just after midday and the aircraft used on both flights we have experienced were Airbus A330.
