Wow I had been really looking forward to this flight having read about it previously and it was even better than expected.
This flight is operated using an A318 with only 8 rows of business class seats, two down either side of the center isle. The spacing is that far apart that when sitting I could not reach the shell of the seats in front and even when laying flat there was still room!
Leaving JFK this service offers supper in the JFK lounge in a section separate from the main lounge prior to departure. There are drinks available, a great selection of bistro style food selections and the staff in the lounge were very attentive refilling drinks and clearing used plates and utensils etc.
BA2 boards quickly as there are only potentially 32 other passengers to board, prior to take off we were asked if we wanted to take advantage of the refresh service the next morning which we accepted. One downside of this flight is that it is relatively short and arrived in London city early so getting to sleep as quickly as possible is recommended.
A light breakfast is served just prior to arrival into London City airport. The only negative at all was clearing immigration after landing as there was only one person processing non EU passport holders and even all passengers from flights arriving after ours with EU passports cleared immigration before we did.
British Airways arrange for you to be chauffeured to the Raddison Hotel where a full buffet breakfast was available then showers provided in their day spa center. We had to catch a cab back to the airport to collect the rental car but that was worth it. One thing to note is many taxis in London do not have credit card payment options.
