A330

Technically this was the first flight of an around the world trip spanning 5 countries and 12 flights although we had positioned into Perth from Sydney to commence.

Qantas QF 140 Auckland to Sydney was an early flight departing around 7:00AM local time. This aircraft was also an Airbus A330 with the great qantas business class cabin. The Qantas lounge in Auckland is nowhere as good as the Auckland Emirates lounge but the Emirates lounge is not open at this time of day. Inflight service was great.

It is great now Qantas have scheduled A330 on this route. the business cabin on A330 is far superior to the Qantas Boeing 737 aircraft.

Traveling this route in Business provides dedicated check in area at Sydney Airport and access to the Qantas Business lounge air side. If you hold status there should also be access to the Emirates lounge in Sydney Airport.

We have flown this flight previously only last time the aircraft was an A330 instead of the B777 currently servicing the route and last time we were in economy.

Once again the selection of lounges in Hong Kong is outstanding. Flying overnight on the Cathay B777 in business is very private and comfortable. Inflight service is great sometimes you wish the flight could be longer?

Benefits are there is now seating rows of 2 only side by side in economy for the window seat rows although there is a center row on these aircraft and in business class almost all these aircraft have the new Qantas business class seating featuring fully lay flat beds and increased privacy and direct isle access for every seat. The new business class seats are a huge improvement over the business class seats on Qantas B737 seating.

Recently flew Business class with Fiji Airways flight number FJ910 we were on a Qantas code share ticketed as QF391. The aircraft used was an Airbus A330-243  - MSN 1394 - DQ-FJT first flight date recorded for this aircraft was 19/02/2013

The business class seats are good in this aircraft, not as good as the likes of Qantas 330 or Cathay or Emirates A380 but ok.

This was our first time in the new Qantas A330 business class seating and we found it to be very good. The compartments are private and comfortable with plenty of room. This inflight service was excellent with a good selection of food and drinks. The seats recline fully flat and there are 2 positions acceptable for take off and landing, an upright position and a slightly reclined position.

Cathay Pacific CX171 Hong Kong to Perth early July 2016 was on an Airbus A330 in the excellent Cathay Pacific Business Class section this time seated in row 12 seats 12D and 12G

Inflight service was great with lunch and dinner served and the wide selection would suit almost everyone.
